Frugality kicked in alongside of my DIY spirit, and I got assembling something for the front door. With the help of some Pottery Barn magazine inspiration earlier this month, I opted to put together a pine bow bunch versus the traditional wreath.
Having themed Christmas decorations sure makes me look nutty, but let me tell you the number of times I have been able to DIY something that matches has truly be astonishing. Out of my craft cubby I pulled some burlap, twine and cranberry velvet ribbon.
First I selected the pristine bows, and then arranged them in a way that was eye pleasing. My GEMs floral badge really was handy for something! After they were all in the right place, I used twine to secure them. The garnishing finish was a bow I made out of burlap. (Super easy by the way!)
Earlier in the week I had looked at some over the door wreath hooks, and couldn't quite shell out $10-$15 for one I didn't really like. The cranberry ribbon adds a pop of color to the entire arrangement, so I used that and the handyman's secret weapon (duct tape) to tape it on the top of the door out of sight.
The entire project took me about 10 minutes, most of which was finding all the materials to put it together. (Yes, meaning the office is the last room to be unpacked.)
